Basic Terms and Conditions

All full day hires include 300 miles, breakdown cover including horse roadside recovery and insurance for one person. We strongly recommend you insure your horse separately for travel. Additional mileage and drivers can be accommodated but charges apply.

Payment must be made in full to secure your booking if your hire date is within 1 week of your booking date. If you are booking dates in advance, we require a £50 deposit per hire. Advanced payments are not refundable. If you cancel within 7 days of your hire you will still be liable / no refund will be given.

Collection of the box the evening before can only be accommodated subject to availability – we will let you know closer to your hire date if this is possible. However, we may be able to guarantee pick up from 3pm the day before for an additional £25 or from 7pm the evening before for £10.

You will need to contact us to arrange the specific time you will collect and return the horsebox. We can allow 15 minutes either side of your collection time to be with us. If you are later than this, we will not guarantee that your hire may go ahead and you will not be refunded.

For all full day hires, we ask that our lorry is returned by 7pm that evening. If you are going to be late, please let us know. Late return charges apply at £10 per hour.

The Horsebox will be supplied clean and with a full tank of diesel and it is the ‘hirers’ responsibility to return the Horsebox with a full tank of diesel and cleaned thoroughly (please note that cleaning cannot be done at our site). Charges: cleaning £25 and refuelling £20 + cost of fuel.

Please bear in mind, we require paperwork and proof of ID from you in advance of your hire. If this is not provided in full by the time of your hire, we will not go ahead with your booking and you will not be offered a refund.

We reserve the right to cancel your hire if we have any concerns whatsoever arising from the license review process.

In the event of a breakdown or road traffic accident, you are required to contact the hiring company (Dassett Vehicle hire) before arranging for vehicle or animal recovery. While we provide you with the details of the vehicle breakdown and horse recovery services, this is for use with our approval only. If you engage directly with these services without agreeing with us in advance, you will be liable for any charges levied if the services are not covered under the scope of the insurance.

Full terms and conditions will be issued by email at the time in which a booking is made and will need to be signed and returned in order to proceed with the hire.
